Privacy Policy
Effective May 17, 2026 · marriagehunt.com
This Privacy Policy describes how MarriageHunt ("MarriageHunt," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit marriagehunt.com and use our event discovery, application, ticketing, and host management services (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Our Terms of Service govern your use of the platform and are incorporated by reference.
1. Scope & who we are
MarriageHunt operates an online platform that helps independent hosts create and manage in-person gatherings, review guest applications, sell tickets, check in attendees, and receive payouts. We process personal information as a service provider to hosts and guests, and as a controller for account, billing, security, and platform operations data.
This policy applies to visitors, registered users, event hosts, and guests who apply to or purchase tickets for gatherings listed on the Service.
2. Not a dating or matchmaking service
MarriageHunt is an event and ticketing management platform. We are not a dating app, matchmaking service, or social network designed to pair individuals for romantic relationships. We do not operate compatibility algorithms, swipe-based matching, or dating profiles.
Hosts may describe gatherings with marriage-minded or community themes, but participation, approval, and attendance are managed through event applications and ticketing—not through automated matchmaking. Information you provide is used to operate events, payments, safety, and trust workflows, not to recommend romantic partners.
3. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Service, and information from third parties as described below.
- Account & authentication. Email address, one-time passcodes for sign-in, display name, optional profile photo, account role (guest, host, or admin), session identifiers, and sign-in metadata such as IP address and browser user agent stored with active sessions.
- Profile & host application. Full name, bio, social links, host application responses (for example community type, target locations, and social presence references), vetting or trust indicators set by hosts or administrators, and Stripe Connect account identifiers and onboarding status for hosts who receive payouts.
- Event & ticketing. Event listings you create or view; application status; ticket purchases; digital ticket and QR check-in data; refund requests and reasons; secret venue details revealed after purchase; and operational logs tied to disputes, payouts, or chargeback evidence (which may include payment identifiers and IP addresses recorded at purchase or refund).
- Payments. When you buy a ticket or a host connects a payout account, payment card and bank details are collected and processed by Stripe, Inc. We receive limited payment data from Stripe (such as payment intent or session IDs, amounts, currency, refund status, Connect account status, and fraud or dispute signals)—not your full card number.
- Communications. Emails we send (for example sign-in codes, application decisions, ticket confirmations, venue reveals, and host sale notices) and information you include when contacting support.
- Technical & usage. Server and application logs, timestamps, referring URLs, device and browser characteristics, and security or audit events (for example admin actions, ticket issuance, or policy enforcement). Optional map features may send venue addresses to Google Maps when you view a ticket with maps enabled.
You may choose not to provide certain information, but some features (such as purchasing a ticket or hosting a paid event) will not work without it.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including discovery, applications, checkout, digital tickets, QR check-in, host dashboards, and admin tools.
- Authenticate users, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and protect the safety and integrity of gatherings.
- Process payments, calculate platform fees, hold and release host balances, issue refunds when approved, and respond to payment disputes or chargebacks.
- Facilitate host review of guest applications and share necessary guest details with the host of an event you apply to or attend.
- Send transactional emails and service notices you reasonably expect when using the platform.
- Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and establish or defend legal claims.
- Analyze aggregated or de-identified usage to understand performance and reliability (we do not sell personal information).
We process information where necessary to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in operating a secure events platform, with your consent where required, and to comply with legal obligations.
5. Parties to whom we disclose information
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information only as needed to operate the Service, as you direct (for example when a host reviews your application), or as required by law. Categories of recipients include:
- Stripe— payment processing, Stripe Checkout, Stripe Connect Express onboarding and payouts, refunds, and fraud or dispute handling. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
- Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, D1 database storage, and edge security for marriagehunt.com.
- Resend (or successor email provider) — delivery of transactional email from our systems.
- Google— optional Maps JavaScript API, Places autocomplete for host addresses, and geocoding when you use map features; governed by Google's terms and privacy policies.
- Event hosts — when you apply to or attend their gathering, hosts receive information needed to approve guests, operate the event, and check in attendees (such as name, application status, and ticket status). Secret locations are generally revealed only after approved purchase as designed in the product.
- Administrators & professional advisers — authorized MarriageHunt staff for support, vetting, payouts, safety, and legal or accounting advisers under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal & safety — courts, regulators, or law enforcement when we believe disclosure is required or permitted to protect rights, safety, or compliance.
- Business transfers — a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this policy or notice to you.
6. Method of disclosure
We disclose information through controlled technical and contractual channels, including:
- Encrypted HTTPS API connections between your browser or our applications and our servers.
- Server-to-server API integrations with payment and infrastructure providers (for example Stripe webhooks and Connect APIs).
- Role-based access inside host, guest, and admin interfaces so hosts see only data for their events.
- Written agreements or standard terms with subprocessors that require confidentiality and appropriate data protection.
- Email transmission to you or, where applicable, to hosts or admins for operational notices.
We do not publicly publish guest application answers or payment card data. Hosts must use guest information only to operate their events and in compliance with applicable law and our Terms.
7. Security practices
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including:
- TLS encryption for data in transit between clients and our platform.
- Hashed one-time passcodes and session tokens for authentication; secrets stored in environment configuration, not in client-side code.
- Access controls separating guest, host, and administrator capabilities; privileged actions logged where implemented.
- Payment card data handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS scope primarily with Stripe); we avoid storing full card numbers on our databases.
- Least-privilege operational access to production systems and periodic review of critical workflows (payouts, refunds, vetting).
- Monitoring, logging, and retention of security-relevant events to investigate abuse, fraud, or chargebacks.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us promptly at [email protected].
8. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, and payment-network obligations. Transaction and ledger records related to tickets and payouts may be kept longer where required for accounting, fraud prevention, or chargeback defense. You may request deletion subject to exceptions described in Section 9.
9. Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update profile details in your account settings where available, sign out to end sessions, or request account deletion through the account page or by emailing [email protected].
We may retain information as needed for legal compliance, completed transactions, dispute resolution, or legitimate security interests. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA (including knowing, deleting, and opting out of sale—note we do not sell personal information). EEA/UK users may lodge complaints with a supervisory authority.
11. Children
The Service is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account or purchase tickets. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. International users
MarriageHunt is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from other regions, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your home country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on marriagehunt.com with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-product notice where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
14. Contact
For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact [email protected]. Mail correspondence, if required, may be sent to MarriageHunt at the address published on marriagehunt.com or provided on request.
